I find this especially useful for the more rotund, barrel shaped.
Targeted and flexible training roller with individually adjustable angled side panels for more freedom of the withers and trapezius muscles ? enables ground and lunging work in a wide variety of applications and requirements.
Depending on the horse?s age and level of education/training, the chest and shoulders are still significantly narrower than the area of the rib cage behind. Consequently, this may lead to slipping or tipping of a conventional training roller when lunging with training aids as soon as the horse exerts some forward pull on the roller.
The girth can slip or tip more easily if the attachment rings are further away from the actual contact point on the horse ? for example, if thick padding further increases this distance. This can result in the need to girth a conventional training roller tighter when young horses are getting used to training aids, otherwise the roller will slip or tilt. Unsteady rollers that slide forward often cause chafe marks and discomfort for the horse. Important: A training roller that is pulled too tight is not suitable for preventing slipping, tipping, or chafing ? on the contrary, excessive pressure can cause discomfort and must be avoided at all costs.
The FLEX FIT training roller therefore deliberately dispenses with thick padding and is instead equipped with stable, wide, and extra flat felt paddings. The special stainless steel withers bracket features side parts that can be individually adjusted in angle. This allows for optimal adaptation to the horse?s rib arch. It ensures ideal support and even pressure distribution ? while reliably relieving the withers and spinous processes. Thick padding is not required. The fit remains effective regardless of how pronounced the horse?s withers are.
